About the VSME framework
VSME is a voluntary sustainability reporting standard designed for non-listed SMEs. It forms part of the broader EU sustainability reporting architecture and provides a lighter reporting format than the ESRS standards.
In practice, the framework helps organisations present their sustainability information in a way that is structured, transparent and comparable.
Through VSME, companies can disclose information such as:
- company structure and reporting scope
- sustainability policies and practices
- environmental indicators, including energy use and greenhouse gas emissions
- workforce-related information
- governance, ethics and compliance practices
